Statement – WBGF World Championships
The World Backgammon Federation (WBGF) would like to provide an official update regarding the organization and future direction of the WBGF World Championships.
The World Championships remain the premier event on the WBGF calendar, bringing together the highest level of competition from member nations across the globe. Planning for upcoming editions is underway, with a continued focus on fairness, transparency, and excellence in organization.
All decisions related to hosting, participation criteria, and event structure are made through consultation with member federations and in accordance with WBGF statutes. No changes to the competition format will be implemented without proper review and approval.
WBGF is also exploring opportunities to enhance the global reach of the championships through improved media coverage, partnerships, and digital engagement.
